ABOUT ME

Originally from Virginia, I moved to New York City after college in fulfillment with a life-long love for the city. The contrast between my rural childhood surroundings with the infamous NYC energy I moved into would be only the first in a long list of contradictions characteristic of my Gemini nature (I promise I'm not an astrology fiend!)​

I ultimately studied Computer Science during undergrad, but a close second choice was Architecture. I picked up a minor in Global Sustainability as my anxiety about the state of our environment grew. To this day I find myself particularly drawn to conversations about biophilic urban design and sustainable food systems.

​

At work, I tend to thrive in an independent capacity on analytical projects and collaboratively on creative ones. I actually love PowerPoint and believe it's a criminally underrated design tool. I am actively learning to release control of minor details when mentoring or delegating to others (alignment, font size, code annotation, consistent naming convention, single-source file sharing I'm looking at all of you!)

Although my extracurricular activities skew heavily creative, I have never truly been able to let go of analytical work. I enjoy finding efficiencies in processes and optimizing the path to solutions. I am particularly proficient at distilling scattered information into an accessible storyline, complete with relevant supporting visualizations (check out my data viz section for more on that).

​

Rural and urban, introverted and extroverted, organized and free-form, creative and analytical. Among others, these dichotomies describe essential intersections where I seem to live my life.
